1. Introduction
Lucid ("we", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable law.
By using the Lucid app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following data:
- Account data: email address (optional — only if you create a permanent account).
- Profile data: HEXACO personality test results (6 dimensions, 24 facets) and cognitive bias profile.
- Decision journal: situation descriptions and decisions you submit to your AI coach.
- Usage data: anonymized usage events (screens viewed, features used) via PostHog to improve the experience.
- Technical data: anonymous device identifier, app version, operating system.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Provide your personalized personality and cognitive bias profile.
- Give your AI coach the context it needs to deliver relevant responses.
- Sync your progress across multiple devices.
- Improve the app using aggregated, anonymized usage data.
- Send you service-related communications (only with your consent).
We never sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising purposes.
4. Data Sharing
Your data may be shared with technical sub-processors strictly within the scope of service delivery:
- Supabase: database hosting and authentication (servers in Europe).
- Anthropic: AI coach query processing (conversation content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses; it is not used to train Anthropic's models per their terms of service).
- PostHog: anonymized usage analytics (servers in Europe).
These sub-processors are bound by GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is erased within 30 days, except for data required to meet our legal obligations.
6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure — including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
7. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
- Right of rectification: correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your data.
- Right to portability: receive your data in a structured format.
- Right to object: object to the processing of your data.

8. Cookies and Trackers
The Lucid mobile app does not use cookies. Our website may use strictly necessary technical cookies for operation. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used.
9. Minors
Lucid is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
